Getting Creative with Spellbinders August Club Kits!

Hello, all! Welcome back to the blog today! It’s the 6th of the month, which means a new collection of Spellbinders Club Kits are here to inspire us to create, and I am excited to share my first card with you!

Spellbinders Clear Stamp of the Month August 2024

As soon as my Club Kits arrived, I had to create with the Clear Stamp of the Month right away! This gorgeous scalloped arch with the delicate flowers creates a perfect all-occasion card.

This beautiful stamp includes not only the scalloped arch but a wide range of sentiments to use on the card. The best part? The coordinating die not only cuts out the outside shape but also the inside of the arch around the flowers, allowing you to create with layers of color! The dies also cut out the ‘for you’ and ‘hello’ sentiments and include a strip die for the smaller sentiments. The stamp is available on its own, but with a die so fabulous, it’s definitely worth subscribing to the set!

I started out stamping the arched floral image onto smooth, white cardstock with Amalgam ink in Whisper. I kept the cardstock in place on my Misti stamping platform while I colored the florals in using OLO Markers.Once I finished coloring, I inked up the stamp again using Amalgam ink in Obsidian to add the beautiful black contrast.

The coordinating die cut out the stamp perfectly and added all of the negative space around the flowers. This gave me the idea to back the die cut with another arch in blue. I cut an arch with one of my favorite dies—the Essential Arches cutting dies that fit the scalloped arch from Powder cardstock, then used Harbor ink to make the blue color a bit darker at the base and around the edges of the arch. I then cut out the scalloped arch two more times from white cardstock and adhered all of the layers together, giving me a three-layered scalloped arch with my stamped floral at the top, which I backed with the inked blue cardstock.

My final step added texture to the background. I used the August Embossing Folder of the Month to add texture to a 4 x 5-1/4” piece of white cardstock, which I layered onto an A2 piece of Pink Lemonade cardstock to add a colorful frame. I adhered my focal piece, the stamped and layered floral arch, to the card front, then adhered my stamped and die cut sentiments created with the Clear Stamp and Die of the Month. The only thing that the card needed was a bit of sparkle, and I chose the pink rhinestones in the Coral Coast Sparkletz to finish it off!

I hope you have been inspired to check out the August Club Kits from Spellbinders, and I cannot wait to share more! Stay tuned!
