Getting Spooky with Spellbinders BetterPress Products!

Today I went live to create DEAD easy Halloween cards using new and past BetterPress Halloween products from Spellbinders! Take a look at what I created in the hour I was live:

I started out with two small BetterPress plates, the Skully Press Plates and Open if You Dare press plates. Both of these sets are a bargain, at around $10 each! Adding a fun blended window on my BetterPress cotton card panel beforehand gave these card fronts an eerie glow before I added the image and sentiment with the BetterPress sets and black BetterPress ink.

The images could not be more crisp and dark—and they have that amazing letterpress texture that makes these cards look like you purchased them from an expensive stationary store!

Both of these panels would be so easy to create again and again to mass-produce on cards or Halloween tags this season!

For my third card, I grabbed my Glimmer Hot Foil System. The beauty of BetterPress plates is that they do double-duty on both the BetterPress or Glimmer systems! I just knew the Pumpkins & Ghosts background press plate would look amazing on a blended background in foil! I messed up my foiling on my live (which is totally typical of a livestream!) but off camera, it turned out perfectly on the second try.

My blend of Sprout, Lemongrass, Fig and Eggplant turned out very cool and colorful on this card front, and the addition of the silver foil just took it over the top!

On each card, I cut out my panels using the new Perfect Touch Rectangles and Tag Etched Dies. These are going to be a new staple in my cardmaking stash, and I love the added texture and detail they add to the outside of the panel.

I layered each blended and pressed panel with a layer of colored cardstock before adding them to A2 Black Onyx card panels. The finishing touch was the addition of Color Essentials Gems in Gold and Spectrum.
