More Spellbinders October Club Kit Cards!

Happy Saturday! I’m popping in with a public service annoucnement for you today: it’s the final day to subscribe to Spellbinders Club Kits starting with the October kits. I have two more cards to inspire you, too!

My first card uses the uber-adorable Small Die of the Month Club. As usual, this is not a ‘small’ die set at all and creates a sweet and cheerful holiday scene with a polar bear and penguin.

For this card, I created a shaped background using the Essential Arches dies and the Embossing Folder of the Month to add texture. I added white pigment into to the top of the embossing folder to give the paper a two-tone look.

After cutting all of the pieces of the die set out and playing with different color combinations, I settled on this soft and sweet combination. I gave the bear’s sweater texture by using the Embossing Folder of the Month and added colorful touches with the light bulbs.

Just for a little more fun, I added a touch of white pen, then Glossy Accents to the top of each bulb to give them a shiny look. This card is just the sweetest, but I may have to keep it for myself to decorate my creative space during the holidays!

Now, let’s take a look at my second, and very different card!

This card stared with a base of texture created with the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month Club. This time, I added a darker red ink to the top of the embossing folder, which helps the 3D elements to really stand out from the background. I added some gold splatter to the paper and let it dry while I created the other elements.

This embossing folder deserved a really elegant sentiment, so I grabbed the Copperplate Happy Holidays press plate. You can use this in the BetterPress or with the Glimmer foiling system, so I decided to foil it in gold. I used another essential arch die set, the Mirrored Arch Labels etched dies to cut it out, then layered it with the same shape in gold foil cardstock, just one size larger to give it a lovely frame.

So that I didn’t cover up too much of the gorgeous background, I added the snetiment at the top and cut off the excess, but my card needed something else—a pretty floral grouping from the Petite Blooms and Sentiments die. I added greenery in two different colors, small red buds and a lovely pink poinsettia in the center. All this card needed was a fashion gold embellishment in the center of the flower to finish it off!

This was a fantastic month of Club Kits at Spellbinders! If you missed my earlier post and the other cards I created this month, check out THIS post! Have a great weekend!
